Job Description
We are seeking a precise and motivated Metal Framing Installer to join our commercial and multi-family construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for laying out, cutting, and assembling light-gauge and heavy-gauge metal studs to construct interior walls, exterior facades, and soffit frameworks. The ideal candidate has strong blueprint-reading skills, works efficiently with laser levels and fastening tools, and is committed to delivering structurally sound frameworks that meet building codes.

- Layout & Assembly: Measuring, marking, and laying out track systems on floors and ceilings using laser levels and chalk lines.
- Installation: Cutting and assembling light-gauge or heavy-gauge steel studs to construct interior walls, load-bearing exterior walls, and bulkheads.
- Component Fitting: Installing door frames (hollow metal frames), window headers, structural bridging, and backing for heavy fixtures.
- Ceiling Systems: Constructing metal suspension systems for acoustic ceilings, drywall ceilings, and complex soffit designs.
- Blueprint Reading: Interpreting architectural drawings, structural blueprints, and framing layouts to ensure exact dimensions.
- Fastening: Operating powder-actuated tools (RAMSET), screw guns, and chop saws to secure metal tracking to concrete, steel, or wood.
- Requirements
- Experience: Proven experience as a Metal Framer or Commercial Carpenter in large-scale multi-family or commercial environments.
- Tools: Possession of standard trade tools (metal snips, locking C-clamps, impact driver, laser level, framing pouch).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with layout geometry, mathematical calculations for cutting angles, and leveling techniques.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 60 lbs, work on feet for 8+ hours, and operate safely on ladders, scaffolding, and scissor lifts.
- Certifications: Valid OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 card, and certifications for aerial lifts (Boom/Scissor) are highly preferred.
- Material Knowledge: Understanding of different steel gauges (structural vs. non-structural) and building code requirements.
